December First Wednesdays

First Wednesdays arrived in Notting Hill for the 7th time last night, with an eclectic mix of boutiques, food hotspots and galleries opening their doors from 6-9pm.
Salon Gallery had a preview for Artist of the Week Debut exhibition. They had a bustling crowd and few glasses of wine later ensured the mood and despite the bitingly cold weather, the gallery was a cosy affair.  The “Duck man” (aka Alex Mazzitelli) then stole the limelight, offering homemade eggnog to the punters before taking them for an exclusive tour around the selection of West London venues in his elaborate head piece featuring ducklings subject to taxidermy. Alex had most welcome in B&T Antiques as guests found his costume fascinating and one of them even tried his head piece on. As he journeyed around the west end, another highlight of the evening was the delights of The March Performance Group, a group of females using themselves to demonstrate, what they describe as “Live-Art Experiences”. First Wednesdays listings are getting longer every month with fantastic feed back. So come and join us next month if you have missed this time! Photos from the events will be up on Flickr and our social networking sites very soon.
